Mother-of-two Caitriona Lucas is tragically the lady who lost her life during the rescue mission this afternoon in County Clare.
The Doolin volunteer coast guard sadly drowned when the vessel herself and two other coast guards were travelling overturned in a swell.
They were on a rescue mission for a man who went missing since Friday from the area.
Mrs Lucas was a librarian for Clare County Council since the year 2000. She is survived by her husband Bernard and two children.
