Gardai in Co Mayo have sadly confirmed that a man has died following a road traffic accident this morning.
It is understood that the man aged in his 70s was killed after the car he was travelling in collided with a lorry om the R334 at The Neale at approximately 11.45am.
Gardai say the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the lorry driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
