Tragic: Man is killed by a falling tree whilst working on a Co Tipperary farm

A man aged in his 40s has sadly died following a farming accident in Co Tipperary this morning it has been confirmed.

It is understood the man was killed after he was struck by a tree whilst operating an excavator digger on a pig farm in Rathcabbin, Borrisokane.

Gardaí say they were alerted to the incident at approximately 8:30am this morning, but despite the best efforts by emergency personnel the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

They added the Health Safety Authority are currently investigating the incident.
