27-yr-old John Chau was tragically killed by a bow and arrow after being shot by protected tribesmen living in one of the world’s most isolated regions in India’s Andaman islands.

Police say the American citizen had been taken to the island by fishermen before he went on his own in a canoe to the remote North Sentinel Island where the indigenous people live completely by themselves.

Tragically, the young man was bombarded with arrows once he got out of the canoe onto the island.

It’s understood that the tribe want protect their indigenous way of life to shield them from diseases from the outside world.

Police have registered a case of murder and seven accused persons have been arrested.

Mr Chau had sadly been trying to introduce the tribe to Christianity but before he even got the chance to say hello, they had murdered him.
