Gardai have confirmed today that a pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car at 8pm on the N24, Limerick to Waterford Road at Ballykisteen in Co. Tipperary last night.
The 23-year-old man was brought to University Hospital Limerick, where he was later pronounced dead.
The N24 is currently closed at Ballykisteen to facilitate forensic investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them in Tipperary or on the confidential line 1800-666-111.
