
According to the Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe, a number of public sector workers could soon have their pay levels restored a lot earlier than expected.
Mr Donohoe’s comments come after he and a number of other Government Ministers have accepted the original Lansdowne Road deal will not run its planned course until September 2018.
Mr Donohoe also said there is a string possibility of a new deal being made before then.
Mr Donohoe explained: “I will be having negotiations and discussions regarding the duration of the replacement for the Lansdowne Road Agreement and other models with union representatives next year.”
