The body of a man who went missing whilst kayaking in Co Kildare has been recovered.
According to RTE News, the man’s body was recovered by divers who had been searching in the area for the past week.
The news comes after the man named as Declan Reid went missing whilst kayaking with his 8 year old son in Athy last Sunday.
It is understood that they got into difficulties whilst on Ardreigh Lock on the River Barrow at approximately 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
The young boy was rescued after a passerby found them in distress.
