Gardai in Co Cork have sadly confirmed that a woman aged in her 50s has sadly passed away following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood the woman was killed after she was struck by an articulated lorry at a junction between the North Ring Road and the Old Youghal Road outside Mayfield Business Park at approximately 4.50pm.
Gardai say the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
