Gardaí in Co Kildare have sadly confirmed that a woman who was struck by a car earlier this week has sadly passed away in hospital.
It is understood the woman aged in her 50s passed away in Beaumont Hospital today.
Gardaí say the woman was struck by a car on the R418 at Nicholastown near Athy, on Wednesday.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle a man aged in his 70s also required treatment.
Gardaí say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
