Taking a ‘nothing to do with me’ attitude towards the ongoing Luas dispute, the very person in charge of transportation affairs in the country says that it would be a “disaster” if he were to intervene in the dispute.
According to Mr. Donohoe, his intervention would totally undermine the ongoing mediation process.
The Luas row has entered into a bitter stage whereby the management company, Transdev, has put all staff on protective notice over the ongoing strike action.
Seeking a way out of taking ownership of the issue, Mr. Donohoe said: “It would be a disaster because with one single move it would undermine all the institutions and organisations we have in place for dealing with industrial relations,”
“The institutions we have were set up by government and I will be supporting them.”
