Speaking on Monday night’s Claire Byrne Live, Martin Collins of traveller group ‘Pavee Point’ heavily commended Garda Commissioner Drew Harris for suspending the garda who appeared in a skit video taking off traveller videos.
News has also emerged that Dublin Fire Brigade have suspended the fireman who appeared in the other video ‘calling out’ the garda in question.
Pavee Point met with Commissioner Harris on Monday to voice their dismay that they felt the videos “promoted the stereotype” that travellers drink, fight and are misogynistic.
However a lot of the general public don’t share sympathy for the traveller community over these videos claiming that they were only a joke and that white collar charity boxing match that they made for in the first place has raised some €50,000.
