Renowned solicitor lawyer Richard Grogan has died following a brief illness.
Grogan, 65, specialised in employment law and is best known for his short TikTok advice videos for young people, which usually end with his slogan: “That’s the law and that’s a fact”.
The Irish Law Society said in a tweet this morning that it was deeply saddened to learn of his death.
They described him as a tireless advocate both in proceedings and in public, saying he would miss his energy, humor and deep commitment to the profession.
Mr Grogan qualified as a barrister in 1979 and in 2009 set up his own practice, Richard Grogan and Associates, in Dublin.
The solicitor’s videos regularly went viral with many social media users thanking him for this advice over the years.
