Tributes have flooded in for the two Donegal men killed on Friday in a horrific tractor accident.
The tragedy occurred when Seamus Hegarty and Kevin Woods were changing the wheel of a tractor. Approximately 6:30pm at Crossroads in Killygordon, the tyre on the wheel exploded and killed both men instantly.
Local priest, Fr Edward Kilpatrick, said the community is devastated. Mr Hegarty was married with four children while Mr Woods was not married.
Fr Kilpatrick said: “Both men were aged 52 and grew up together. They went to school together, worked together and had the same manner in that they were both hard-working, modest and quiet men. They were decent, upright men who went about their work on a daily basis. They were very committed to their community and to each other. The fact they lived most of their lives together and then died together is what the community here is finding it most difficult to come to terms with.”
