
According to her publicist, Grammy-winning American singer Roberta Flack has away at the age of 88, reports Breaking News.
Her well-known songs include Killing Me Softly With His Song, written by Lori Lieberman and Norman Gimbel, and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, which was originally penned by Ewan MacColl.

“We are devastated that the wonderful Roberta Flack passed away this morning, February 24th, 2025,” publicist Elaine Schock told the PA news agency, reports Breaking News.
In the company of her loved ones, she passed away quietly.
“Roberta violated records and boundaries.” She was a proud teacher as well, reports Breaking News.
Born in North Carolina on February 10, 1937, Flack was raised in Virginia and began taking classical piano lessons when she was nine years old.
When she was 15, she received a full scholarship to Howard campus in Washington, DC, where she briefly served as the assistant conductor of the campus choir before moving back to North Carolina after her father passed away in 1959. A year later, she returned to the capital, reports Breaking News.
She received a Grammy for lifetime achievement in 2020.
