Locals have identified the man who died in a traffic mishap in Ballina, County Mayo, as James Moyles, reports RTE.
Shortly before 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 33-year-old was hit by a car on Lord Edward Street, resulting in serious injuries.
After being admitted to Mayo University Hospital for medical care, he passed away there last night, reports RTE.
His niece was also hurt in the event; she was treated at MUH for non-life-threatening injuries before being allowed to leave the hospital.
Independent Councillor Mark Duffy has characterised Mr. Moyles, who lived in the town’s Parkside neighbourhood, as a “lovely guy” who was well-known in the community, reports RTE.
