When will they learn. There are emerging reports that a precision HIMARS strike has, yet again, annihilated almost two entire companies’ worth as the men stood still in perfect formation waiting for a high-ranking official to inspect them.
The strike reportedly happened near the Ukrainian town of Trudivske early on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, troops attached to the 4th and 6th companies were standing at attention waiting for Maj. Gen. Oleg Moiseev, area commander and top officer of Russia’s 29th Army, as the rockets began raining down on them. For maximum lethality, Ukrainian gunners had loaded cluster munitions into the weapons.
A conservative estimate puts the number of dead at around 70 enlisted men. A Russian company usually fields between 80-120 troops. Around 300 personnel were wounded, many of them critically.
There have been similar high-casualty events in the past, usually because of pinpoint Ukrainian HIMARS strikes such as this one targeting mass gatherings of hapless Russian soldiers just standing there waiting to be blown to twitchy bits.
