Tributes have been paid to a male hiker, aged in his 50s, who was tragically killed while climbing the Carrauntoohil peak in Co. Kerry.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon with emergency services notified and immediately rushing to the scene.
The hiker was reportedly alone at the time of his death and sadly was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai are treating the event as a tragic accident.
