A man has died following a crash involving a car and a lorry near Shercock in Co Cavan at approximately 7.30am on Monday.
The lorry driver, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital, reports RTE.
The collision took place on the main Shercock to Cootehill route, the R192, at Corcloughan.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, reports RTE.
The R192 remains closed while gardaí carry out a technical examination, with local diversion routes currently in operation.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses or motorists who may have dash-cam footage to come forward, reports RTE.
