
A man in his 40s has lost his life in Ballycotton, Co Cork, following an incident involving a dumper truck, reports Breaking News.
Emergency services and Gardaí responded to the scene on Church Road in the town on Thursday afternoon. The incident was reported at around 3:30pm.
It is believed the man had been working in the area when he was hit by his own dumper truck, reports Breaking News.
He was declared dead at the location.
His remains will be transported to Cork University Hospital, where a postmortem examination is expected to take place, reports Breaking News.
Garda forensic collision experts are set to examine the scene. The L3633 road remains shut to traffic, and local diversions are currently in effect.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been informed. A thorough investigation is underway, reports Breaking News.
The Coroner has been notified of the death, and an inquest will be scheduled in due course.
