
A woman in her sixties has died after a fire broke out in a house in Co Offaly.
At approximately 10pm Saturday night, gardaà and fire crews were called to a home that was ablaze in the village of Moneygall, reports RTE.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, and the woman’s body was discovered inside the property.
No additional injuries were reported at the scene, reports RTE.
The local coroner has been informed, and the woman’s remains were transported to the mortuary at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
The area has been sealed off for a technical assessment, and gardaà are continuing their inquiries, reports RTE.
