A number of warnings were issued to Irish consumers this week after several well-known products were removed from sale due to safety concerns.
Each week, product safety officers from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) carry out checks on various items sold in Ireland to ensure they comply with safety regulations, reports The Mirror.
These checks may take place without notice and cover a wide selection of goods, such as toys, electrical devices and gas equipment.
If products fail to meet required safety levels, CCPC officers use their legal authority to ensure they are removed from sale to safeguard consumers and eliminate further risk, reports The Mirror.
This week, the CCPC stated that several popular items available across Ireland have been recalled due to safety issues, including a widely used heat-circulating pump, children’s garments and branded toys. A full list of recalled items is provided below.
JoJo Maman Bébé Ltd is issuing a recall of JoJo Maman Bébé childrenswear for both girls and boys because the fastener poppers were not attached correctly, reports The Mirror.

According to the CCPC, the popper could become accessible which may cause scratching, or detach from the product which could cause choking.
There are around 30 affected girls’ clothing items in the Republic of Ireland. These products were sold by Next and JoJo Maman Bébé, reports The Mirror.
The recalled girls’ clothing items are: Floral Cord Dress and Body Set, model H15846. Floral Cord Dungarees And Top Set, model H16250. Cherry Printed Cord Dungarees and Top Set, model W26846. Fairy Mouse Cord Dress with Body, model F81946. Cord Bubble Romper and Body Set, model F87393.
There are roughly four affected boys’ clothing items in the Republic of Ireland. These items were also sold by Next and JoJo Maman Bébé, reports The Mirror.
The recalled boys’ items are: Herringbone Dungarees and Top Set, model B22314. Two-Piece Embroidered Cord Dungarees and Top Set, model H15199. Two-Piece Embroidered Cord Dungarees and Top Set, model H15210. Gruffalo Cord Romper, model H15189.
They added: “If you purchased any of the products in a Next or Jojo Maman Bébé store, please return the product to the store for a full refund. If you purchased this product on the Next website, you can contact Next for a full refund. If you bought any of the products on the JoJo Maman Bébé website, please call their Customer Service team on 00 44 0333 777 4529 and they will be able to arrange a return and full refund. For further information on this recall, please call the JoJo Maman Bébé Customer Service team on 00 44 0333 777 4529,” reports The Mirror.
