
A road traffic incident occurred near Tralee in County Kerry on Sunday morning, reports The Mirror.
The single-vehicle crash happened on the N69 at Ballingowan shortly after 10am on September 14.
Gardaà and emergency crews responded quickly to the alert and arrived at the scene, which involved a car, reports The Mirror.
Tragically, the driver – a man in his 20s and the only person in the vehicle – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaà have confirmed that the local coroner has been informed, and arrangements are in place to transfer the deceased to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry. A post-mortem will be carried out at a later stage, reports The Mirror.
The area remains sealed off this afternoon as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a detailed examination of the scene. Local traffic diversions are currently in effect.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: “Gardaà are appealing for witnesses to this collision. They are particularly appealing to those with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area at the time to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tralee Garda Station at 066 7102300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station,” reports The Mirror.
