Tributes pour in after the sudden tragic passing of ‘kind, gentle and beautiful’ young nurse and mother of two

Tributes have been pouring in after the sudden and tragic passing of a beloved nurse and “amazing” mother-of-two from Co Meath earlier this week, reports The Mirror.

Emma Jane Cahill (née Farrelly), of Broadmeadow Vale in Ratoath, died peacefully but unexpectedly at home on Monday (March 31).

She is survived by her “heartbroken husband and soulmate Paul, her beautiful and adorable daughters Sophia and Olivia, her parents John V and Gwen, her sisters Gillian and Jessica, brother-in-law Fergus, father and mother-in-law Frank and Caroline Cahill, sister-in-law Ciara and brother-in-law Stevie, her much-loved nieces Aodha and Ella and close friend Sarah, as well as Emma and Paul’s dear uncles, aunts, cousins, close friends, neighbours and colleagues,” according to a notice on RIP.ie, reports The Mirror.

Emma was a cherished member of the local community, and news of her passing has deeply affected those who knew her, with many describing her as “an absolutely beautiful human”.

A touching tribute shared online by a close friend read: “Deepest sympathies to all the family on the devastating passing of Emma. Truly one of the kindest, gentlest and the most beautiful lady we had the privilege to know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. May she rest in eternal peace,” reports The Mirror.

Another person wrote: “My deepest sympathies. Emma was a beautiful person inside and out who was taken far too soon. Thinking of you all and sending my love during this difficult time.”

A third mourner said: “Sending our Deepest Sympathies to both the Farrelly & Cahill families on the sudden passing of Emma. An absolutely beautiful human being that the world is at a loss without. Thinking of you all at this most difficult time,” reports The Mirror.

A family friend expressed their sorrow, writing: “Dearest Paul, Gwen, John, Gillian, Jessica, Fergus, Sophia and Olivia, words cannot express our deep sorrow and condolences on the sudden and terrible passing of darling Emma, our hearts are heavy, an angel and such a wonderful, kind, beautiful and caring lady. She will be very much missed by all, her sweetness will be forever remembered and cherished by those whom she touched by being in our lives. Love and hugs. Ian and Keith,” reports The Mirror.

Emma worked as a nurse at the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin, where she left a lasting impression. Her colleagues remembered her with affection, describing her as “an exceptional nurse” and “a wonderful person” in heartfelt tributes online.

“Sincere condolences to the Farrelly & Cahill families on the sudden loss of Emma. Truly heartbreaking. I worked in the Mater private, she was a fabulous nurse and such a lovely person. May she rest in peace,” one colleague wrote, reports The Mirror.

“Sincere condolences to the Cahill and Farrelly families on the sudden passing of Emma. I worked with Emma in the Mater Private and she was always so pleasant and kind to everyone. She will be a big loss to you all. May she rest in peace,” another shared, reports The Mirror.

A third said. “So sorry to hear about Emma’s passing. She was a wonderful person and an exceptional nurse. My deepest sympathies to both families, her husband, and her two beautiful daughters.

While a fourth posted: “To Paul, Sophia and Olivia and all the Farrelly and Cahill families I offer my sincere sympathies on Emma’s untimely passing. It was my pleasure to have worked with her in the Mater Private hospital over many years where she was a caring and kind professional who will be missed by all. May her kind soul RIP,” reports The Mirror.

Emma will repose at her parents’ home in Hurdlestown, Kells, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with her funeral service scheduled for Friday morning at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Ratoath.

Her family has requested that donations, if desired, be made in Emma’s memory to the Irish Heart Foundation, reports The Mirror.
