A woman and two young girls have sadly died following a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car on the N17 in Co Mayo.
The woman was the driver of the car with the two young girls being her passengers. All three were killed in the crash.
The crash happened on the main route between Galway and Sligo shortly before 2pm. No other injuries were reported.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the N17 in Castlegar, a short distance from Claremorris.
Diversions remain in place around Castlegar and gardaí are redirecting traffic off the N17, in both directions.
The road will be closed until tomorrow morning allowing a technical examination of the crash site to take place.
