There was some sad news on the Irish music scene yesterday as the iconic music shop Waltons has closed its doors for the last time.
A spokesperson for the store, which was sited on South Great George’s Street in the capital, said that rising rents and the impact of online shopping have been major contributing factors for the closure.
Walton’s Blanchardstown branch will remain trading. Tributes have poured in from social media users who claim the store was an iconic music centre in Dublin and joy to browse around.
