Fr Tony Coote recently said on RTE television that he had absolutely no fear of dying because he believed completely in God.
Tragically, his family announced late last night that Fr Tony passed away after raising over €600,000 for motor neuron disease.
Aged in his 50s, Fr Tony went on a 550km walk from Donegal to Cork last year, which was called Walk While You Can, and was aired on RTE. The walk raised an enormous €600,000.
Tributes have been flooding in on social media for Fr Tony who was also the Administrator of Mount Merrion and Kilmacud parishes in Dublin.
