
Tributes are being offered to a “true gentleman and kind work colleague” who died in a motorcycle crash in County Galway, reports The Mirror.
Patrick De Le Ruelle, 29, from Knockakilleen, Kinvara, Galway, died after his motorcycle collided with a car on the N67 last Friday.
Gardaí responded to the scene in Oranmore shortly after 4pm, following reports of a crash involving a motorbike and a car at Tonroe on the N67, reports The Mirror.

They are now asking any witnesses who were in the area at the time to come forward, reports The Mirror.
Patrick was employed at Integer Medical Devices in Parkmore, Galway City.
One friend shared: “I was shocked to hear of Patrick’s passing. He was a gentleman who always had a smile for everyone. Thinking of his family and friends during this very difficult time. Rest in peace Patrick,” reports The Mirror.
Another tribute read: “Sincere sympathy to the De La Ruelle family on the tragic passing of Patrick. A true gentleman. He was a kind and caring colleague. He will be greatly missed.”
Senator and family friend PJ Murphy added: “Condolences to the family and friends of Patrick on his very sad and untimely passing. May he Rest in Peace,” reports The Mirror.
Patrick is survived by his father Philippe, mother Jackie, and his brother Brendan.
He will be reposing at Corless Funeral Home in Kinvara on Tuesday evening, April 8, from 5pm to 7pm, reports The Mirror.
His Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Ciaran’s Church, Doorus, Kinvara, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The Mass will be available to watch on the Ballinderreen and Kinvara Parish Facebook page.
In a statement, Gardaí said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Oranmore, Co. Galway, on Friday, 4th April 2025.” “Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and motorcycle on the N67 at Tonroe, Oranmore, shortly after 4pm,” reports The Mirror.
They also stated: “The motorcyclist, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.” “His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. The Coroner has been notified,” reports The Mirror.
“No other injuries were reported. The scene was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has now reopened to traffic.”
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward,” reports The Mirror.
