Troubled insurer RSA sheds 59 jobs, with 30 more in peril

The news comes after over 100 people were let go by the company last year.

RSA have confirmed that it’s seeking the closure of one of its Galway customer service facilities, and may relocate its business to the capital. If such move came to pass, a further 30 people would lose their jobs.

The lay-offs are part of a business review carried out by new chief executive Ken Norgrove, in a bid to maintain RSA on the Irish Market.

RSA’s parent British company had to inject almost €400m on its Irish arm after a €274m hole was discovered in the accounts of the business here in 2013.
