There was a true life changing story for one Co Cork family after they scooped up a whopping €458,316 on last Friday’s Euromillions draw.
The family from Midleton have said their “dreams have come true” after they matched five numbers and one Lucky Star during the draw. The family who wish to remain anonymous say they are delighted despite being one Lucky Star away from collecting the top prize of €80m. The lucky winners, say they bought the €9 winning Quick Pick ticket in Al’s Restaurant, Market Green in Midleton, Co Cork on Friday afternoon.
The family who recently collected their winnings at National Lottery headquarters, released a short statement with father and husband telling reporters: “I have always been quite lucky and have won a number of small amounts on the EuroMillions in recent weeks.” “I even won about €1,200 on the Lotto 12 years ago and I always said I would win big again. “It’s still a huge shock to the system, I haven’t slept properly since I found out we’d won on Saturday night.”
The happy winner further explained: “I checked my numbers online and just couldn’t believe my eyes – my numbers were the same as the ones on my screen! I rang my mam and asked her and my dad to check the numbers for me again.” “Of course they thought I was joking at first and then total hysteria broke out,” he laughed. “I was down to my last €30 on Thursday night and was terribly worried about how we were going to get through the next couple of weeks. This really couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s life changing.”
The delighted family also say they plan to take much deserved family holiday to Spain for plenty of sun, sea and relaxation.
