TUI reject the latest proposals to reform Junior Cert

The Teachers unions have rejected the latest proposals to reform the Junior Cert. However they say they are open to further talks, but that a strike remains on the cards.

Meanwhile the Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan has said:  “the proposed document goes a long way to framing a fair and equitable solution” to the implementation of Junior Cycle reform”. Although the teachers unions responded to education minister’s claims, saying they still have serious concerns to raise with Dr. Pauric Travers, who wrote the current draft document.

TUI President Gerry Quinn made a brief statement regarding the latest rejection of proposals saying further talks will have to take place before any resolution can be brought about.
