He may be best known for presenting the weather on TV3 but presenter Martin King has taken his weather presenting skills to different level recently. Mr King has given a Homeless forecast all in aid to support The Simon Community’s Simon Week activities.
The latest move involving the popular weather presenter is being shown to the public in a bid to highlight their campaign asking members of the public to sign a letter urging the Taoiseach Enda Kenny along with the Tánaiste Joan Burton to bring the current homeless and housing crisis to a halt by making it their top priority.
The move comes after the group had earlier stated that the Government had failed with its promise to end homelessness by 2016.
A leading spokesperson for the Simon Community said: “Ireland is in the grip of a housing and homelessness crisis.”Every day men, women and children have no place to call home. Thousands live in emergency accommodation nationwide and many hundreds more sleep rough or rely on the kindness of family and friends.
They added: “We need to act now to ensure people who are homeless and those at risk have a roof over their heads. We need to change this grim forecast for the better.”
