The Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly has publicly slammed those who are responsible for sending a suspicious and threatening package to his offices in Nenagh last week
Mr Kelly made his comments in his first interview since the incident occurred on Friday morning, Mr Kelly told reporters that he is well used of threats but said it was extremely cowardly to target his staff.
Mr Kelly told radio station Tipp Fm: “The Gardaí know my movements, all day, every day, I go through that all the time so I’m used to that, but this is a different level. “The lads inside my office, to be subjected to something like that where their safety is an issue now is a level which I’ve never encountered before.”
Mr Kelly added: “Whoever sent this is a scumbag, it’s as simple as that.”
