The political elite are throwing the position of Taoiseach around like a football, it would appear.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has confirmed that he’s willing to let Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin have a go at the Taoiseach job the next time around.
Perhaps not so coincidentally, Micheal Martin said that he would be Taoiseach ‘within five years’, but seems he’s getting his go earlier.
And so does the familiar bipartisan turn-taking system of Irish politics go on in perpetuity.
The gravy train doesn’t appear to be running out of steam any time soon.
