Twenty counties remain under weather warning due to heavy and persistent rainfall.
The warning will stay in place until 4am tonight.
According to the national forecaster, the excess rainfall is likely to compound flooding that occurred over the past few days in the wake of Storm Babet, with southern areas affected particularly bad.
