Twitter warns users will be banned for wishing for President Trump’s death

Twitter has warned that users on the platform wishing for Donald Trump’s death are violating policy and could face bans on their accounts.

On Friday, following the President’s hospitalisation after testing positive for Covid-19, Twitter said that their ‘Abusive Behaviour Policy’ forbids users from posting tweets ‘wishing or hoping serious harm on a person or group’ according to the Guardian.

Although most Americans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for the leader of their government, some took to Twitter to express their hope that the husband and grandfather dies of the illness.

Dominic West, the Trinity College Dublin educated star of HBO’s ‘the Wire’, told Good Morning Britain that he leapt in the air with ‘joy’ upon learning of the President’s diagnosis.
