Two arrested after allegedly sending malicious messages about Nicola Bulley

Two people suspected of sending malicious communications about the disappearance of Nicola Bulley have been arrested.

Lancashire Police said they received information over the weekend about messages sent to Wyre Council members.

A 49-year-old man from Manchester and a 20-year-old woman from Oldham have been arrested on suspicion of malicious communication offences.

The man was released on bail until May 12, while the woman remains in custody.

A spokesman for the force said: “We received reports over the weekend that a number of malicious messages were being sent to members of the Wyre Council.

“Investigations have led to the arrest of a 49-year-old man from Manchester on suspicion of malicious communication offences. He has since been released on bail until May 12 pending further investigation.

“A 20-year-old woman from Oldham was also arrested on suspicion of malicious communication offenses and remains in police custody. Investigations are still ongoing.”
