One month after the Berkeley tragedy in which six Irish students lost their lives, two of the seven injured are waiting for medical approval to travel. They hope to return home in the next few days.

The two students are expected to be deemed well enough to travel, but face further treatment and rehabilitation time here in Ireland.

In related news, two events are due to be held in San Francisco and Berkeley to mark the first month’s anniversary of the tragedy.

The Irish Immigration Pastoral Centre in San Francisco will hold a mass in St Philip’s Church in the city, at 7pm local time this evening.

And also, a month’s mind vigil will be held on Sunday evening in the same public square wher Irish J-1 students in the San Francisco area gathered to attend a vigil a day after the accident.
