Joseph O’Neill and Niall Williams have today been longlisted for this prestigious literary award, for their novels “The Dog” and “History of the Rain”, respectively.

“The Dog,” is O’Neill’s fourth novel, and it tells the story of a New York lawyer forced to sacrifice his personal morals after moving to Dubai. Williams’ work chronicles the story of an Irish family in Co Clare. This is his ninth novel.

Well done to both for such great accolade and the best of luck in the competition.
