Another Garth Brooks gig pulled after locals complain

Garth Brooks fans just can’t catch a break. Hot on the heels of the cancellation of the five concerts planned for Croke Park, yet another opportunity to hear the star’s hits has collapsed. Once again, complaints from local residents are to blame.

This time the venue was Doheny & Nesbitts pub on Dublin’s Merrion Row which had been planning to host two tribute nights to the star this Sunday and Monday night. But local residents objected, resulting in the pub managers deciding to cancel the gig on Sunday. The Monday night act will go ahead.

Fans are still reeling from the Croke Park fiasco, where Dublin City Council refused to grant a licence for all five concerts, leading to a decision by Garth Brooks to pull the plug on all five concerts. The only way to see him live now is to travel to one of the venues he’ll be visiting on his comeback world tour.
