Two men arrested after bus with three tourists is hijacked at Dublin Airport

Gardaí have confirmed that two people have been arrested after a bus ferrying tourists from Dublin Airport was stolen on Wednesday.

It is understood the men were arrested after the bus was stolen with three tourists from Columbia and England onboard.

Although thankfully no one was injured in the incident, the group who were unaware they were inside a stolen vehicle informed authorities after arriving at the wrong hotel.

Gardai say the bus which dropped tourists off at the City North Hotel near Juilanstown, Co Meath, proceeded to travel northwards before eventually being picked up by Gardai outside Drogheda.

Gardaí say they then followed the bus all the way to Dundalk before it rammed a Garda car outside the town.

It is then believed that the thieves then travelled over the border before ramming a PSNI police car in Crossmaglen.

Gardai say the pair were eventually apprehended after they tried to flee the bus in a car which rammed another Garda car in Castleblaney, Co Monaghan.

Both men aged in their 30s are currently being detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station.
