Two more people have lost their lives on Irish roads, during a weekend that saw a total of three fatalities across the country.
In the latest accident, a mother in her 30s and her 14-year-old son were killed instantly when the car they were travelling in struck a tree in Ballaghlea, Ballygar, Co. Galway at around 9.45 pm yesterday.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident, and they were the only occupants. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
