The British government has announced it will increase its nuclear arsenal expand its presence in the fields of space and cyberspace Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Tuesday.
After a review of British military and foreign policy on Tuesday the UK PM announced plans to increase the increase defence spending by 24 billion euros over the next four years with a focus greater nuclear capability.
The growing threat of an increasingly globally assertive China is sighted as the reason for the move.
“There is no question that China will pose a great challenge to an open society such as ours, but we also work with China where that is consistent with our values and interests including building a strong and positive economic relationship and in addressing climate change,” Prime Minister Johnson said.
