The UK’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock has warned that the country faces an enormous challenge and has warned that areas could be in Tier 4 restrictions for months to come.
Speaking to Sky News following the confirmation of a new strain of the virus, Hancock said the new rapid strain is out of control and the Government had to act quickly and decisively.
Hancock seemingly warned that areas of the country could be in Tier 4 restrictions for months to come until the most vulnerable in society are vaccinated against the disease.
He also stated that people must act like they already have the virus as it is the only way to keep it under control.
Hancock told Sky News that the virus is a deadly disease which has to be kept under control and it has been made all the more difficult given this new strain.
