Parts of the UK had a bitterly cold night last night, as temperatures in some areas of Scotland plummeted to -16C.
A number of other places around the UK also saw double-digit sub-zero temperatures tonight.
Last evening, authorities warned of the extreme danger of venturing outside in such deep cold, and issued advice to avoid driving unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Meanwhile temperatures in Ireland look like they could 7c in the week ahead as temperatures begin to climb from Monday.
