Former Labour MP and Respect Party MP and renowned left-wing activists George Galloway has said that Brexit is “necessary” to build a patriotic Britain and predicts a surge in national pride following the UK’s departure from the Brussels run bloc.
According to the Express, Galloway, a supporter of Brexit, showed off a celebratory Brexit cup in December following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s success in gaining MP’s approval for his Brexit deal while telling Russia Today UK that he believes “Britain will Brexit joyously at the end of January”.
Prime Minister Johnson’s Withdrawal Agreement Bill (WAB) passed the second reading stage in the Commons in December following the Conservative party’s victory in the UK General Election in which they secured an 80 seat strong majority in parliament.
Mr Galloway went on to say:
“The left, the Labour movement has to go with that. If you are seen as the anti-national, the anti-British, the pro-EU, the people who cannot stomach their own flag and their own nation and its culture and tradition and history, then you yourself will be history.”
