A mother of five in the UK is potentially facing prison after she “misgendered” a transgender woman on twitter.

Caroline Farrow (44) a broadcaster and writer for Roman Catholic newspapers, was called in for a police interview on Monday for an interrogation over a tweet she posted following an appearance on Good Morning Britain last September during which she took part in a debate on transgender children.

The devoutly Catholic mother stated

I don’t know what I am suspected to have done. The only thing I can think of is that I may have referred to a 23-year-old transgender woman as someone’s “son”.
‘I try at all times to be polite on Twitter, but it is my belief on both a religious and scientific basis that you cannot change the sex into which you were born.’

The Daily Mail reported.

Farrow reported on twitter that she had been reported to the police by a woman called Susie Green for allegedly misgendering her child.

The mother may now be prosecuted under the “Malicious Communications Act” for referring to the person with pronouns that are biologically correct but not his preferred pronouns according to his mother.
