Russian propaganda continues to engage in projection overdrive, as it recently announced to the gullible Russian society that Ukrainian troops sustained heavy losses in ‘meat’ assaults during the liberation of Urozhaine.
The reality is the other way around, of course. Russian commanders are well known for ordering human wave assaults in a doomed attempt to overwhelm the enemy. Such enterprises routinely end with piles of corpses stacked several rows high.
Ukrainian operators recently entered the strategically important enclave of Urozhaine, routing the Russian defenders, who fled for their lives on foot. Ukrainian gunners did not permit them to escape unscathed however, as the fleeing Russians were showered with cluster munitions as they ran away.
Russian propaganda tends to use projection to deflect the army’s abject performance so far during the ill-fated invasion of Ukraine.
