Ukraine counter-offensive: Ukraine’s special services score a decisive victory far behind enemy lines

Ukraine’s special services have scored a decisive victory far behind enemy lines after demolishing a key railway route suspected to be used to illegally ferry war supplies from China to Russia.

The heroic action took place in the Severomuysky Tunnel, about 3,000 miles inside Russian territory. The tunnel is part of the 2,700-miles long Baikal-Amur railway.

Saboteurs detonated no fewer than four explosive devices while a 41-carriage supply train was moving through the tunnel. The convoy included at least three tankers worth of precious aviation fuel.

The conflagration inside the confined space burned hot enough to melt the rails, obliterating the train, its crew, and most of the tunnel’s structure.

This is the latest in a long string of successful partisan actions since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
