Poorly-trained and poorly-armed Russian conscripts are being thrown as cannon fodder against perfectly prepared Ukrainian defence positions in the Bakhmut area. The no man’s land in between is zeroed-in by Ukrainian artillery, which pounds the advancing Russian troops, inflicting devastating losses.
Some 300,000 young Russian men were forcibly conscripted and sent to the front lines with little or no training and discount equipment, with wholly predictable results.
