Ukraine is to acquire a state-of-the-art drone fleet to inflict further death and destruction on the enemy.
According to local reports, Ukraine’s military will acquire Switchblade 600, Jump 20, Altius-600, and CyberLux K8 drones.
The Switchblade 600 is an offensive drone that can stay aloft for around 40 mins, with an effective operational range of 40km. Switchblade aircraft are ideal to take out Russian tanks, artillery pieces, command posts, and air defence platforms.
Jump 20 drones take off and land vertically, which makes them ideal to be operated from anywhere on the battlefield. Manufactured by AeroVironment, which also makes the Switchblade series, Jump 20 can remain airborne for up to 14h, patrolling the skies above Ukraine and broadcasting intelligence about Russian positions so they can be pulverized by long-range weaponry.
The Altius-600 is a small drone with a range of almost 400 kilometers and a modular design that enables this machine to carry either an offensive payload or electronic warfare equipment.
And finally, the CyberLux K8 drone, manufactured by the Cyberlux Corporation, is the latest addition to Ukraine’s arsenal. Specifications are classified, but the K8 is thought to enable unparalleled surveillance and fire control capabilities.
